CII-YI's "Jagriti" initiative for Rural Women Healthcare
As a part of Jagriti - an initiative by CII-Yi (XLRI) during “Jamshedpur JoyFest: Joy of Giving Week 2012”
- 20 girl students of XLRI interacted with around 120 adolescent girls and
women from a number of SHGs belonging to the area of Musabani Tehsil (East
Singhbhumi) as their first visit. The shared/educated them about female
specific health and hygiene related issues. Alert to the fact that women in under-resourced
communities do not have access to modern amenities owing to their financial
inadequacy, they distributed free of cost sanitary napkins, in order to place
it as a healthy substitute to the usual unhygienic means, which can cause
certain health problems.
